USSC LeftShaker Grate. The shaker grate is an important part of your unit. Air passes through the bottom of the grate to the base of the fire. Rotating the handle position will agitate the coals and allow ash to drop into the lower pan. It is important to inspect the grates periodically. If you notice that the grates are warping orshow signs of deterioration, they should be replaced!
